Madonna and Guy announced their split yesterday through their spokeswoman, the divorce is thought to be the biggest split in showbiz history and have come after the couple have denied having trouble in their marriage for the last few months.

Just weeks before what would have been their eighth wedding anniversary, both are already leading separate lives, with Madonna touring in America and Guy seeking solace in the English countryside. The couple have enjoyed a glamorous showbiz marriage for almost eight years but the relationship between the pop-star and upper class Englishman who say were attracted to each other through their differences now seems to definitely be over.

It has also been revealed that Guy Ritchie could now miss out on a massive £100million divorce settlement because he apparently signed a pre-nup agreement that was demanded by Madonna before they were married eight years ago – this means that due to his signature he will get a set payment from the divorce, instead of fighting to share £260million of his wife’s fortune. Together as a couple they were worth £300million and even though most of this fortune belonged to Madonna Guy could have been allowed a significant claim, family lawyer Ayesha Vardag has said “It doesn’t matter who earned the money, Guy may still expect a huge payout from this divorce”. In a statement, the estranged couple asked for space to come to terms with their split that, it is said, could be legally finalised in just weeks.

The news follows several months of rumours that a split was going to happen, but up until the last few days, both parties tried their best to hide any signs of strain. Their marriage has always been under pressure due to the workloads of the famous couple and recently Madonna has been jetting around the world on her latest tour.

There are fears this week for Angelina Jolie as she struggles with the demands of six children all under the age of six and Brad Pitt has claimed he wants to have two more children by next year, this is starting to cause concern that the actress may soon not be able to look after herself and her own wellbeing due to having no energy left after looking after all her children. It is well known that Angelina is a strong character and her role in Tomb Raider proves that she is definitely one tough cookie, but as strong as she may be, the A-list actress and mother of six is reported to be struggling to cope with her newborn twins yet she is still pushing ahead with plans to expand her family further.

Angelina gave birth to a set of twins in July, and named them Vivienne and Knox, this made her and Brad the parents to six children all under the age of six years! Reporters suggested that everything was well and the growing family were very happy and settled, yet only two months later reports are saying Angelina is finding it hard to cope with six children under six, her twins are suffering from colic which causes excessive crying and the stress of dealing with this alongside her usual daily duties is proving hard work for the actress as she is suffering countless sleepless nights.

Brad Pitt is also very busy as he has a new film to promote, this resulting in him not being able to spend as much time as he would like with his growing family, leaving Angelina to look after all six young children alone. The busy actor has been all over the world in the last few weeks to promote the new film Burn After Reading; this has included trips to the Venice and Toronto film festivals. Angelina on the other hand hasn’t been able to leave France’s Château Miraval; this is where the family have been staying since the twins were born since they returned home from hospital in July. Recent reports are also informing us that while Brad Pitt was a the Toronto Film Festival he set up a secret meeting with his ex-wife Jennifer Aniston as she was in town promoting her latest film, this is the first time that the ex couple have met face to face in many years and rumour has it that Angelina was not happy about the reunion between the couple – which is to be expected whilst she is at home looking after the couples children. Then, during an appearance at the Venice Film Festival, Brad shocked reporters by announcing that he and Jolie plan to expand the family further still in the next 12 months. “I’ll have two more by next year,” Brad told media at the launch. Let’s just hope, for Angelina’s sake, he was joking. 

The British Fashion Awards 2008 shortlist has been announced this week, and it’s just six weeks until the event and we will find out who will be awarded a British Fashion Award this year. The British Fashion Awards is always a glamorous and popular occasion where a large variety of celebrities attend sporting the latest fashions and accessories; some have even called the Fashion Awards Britain’s equivalent to the Oscar’s. The event is going to be held on November 25^th and it will be a huge occasion in the diaries of the nominees that have been announced this week.

Model of the Year contest is one of the most sort after awards presented and the same model is a nominee who won the award last year – Agness Deyn, she is competing against Lily Donaldson and Jourdan Dunn who are both successful models who have made themselves well know in 2008. This award is so popular in this event due to the event being fashion based, and using models does a large part of fashion promotion. Jimmy Choo, Agent Provocateur and Paul Smith are all nominated for Designer Brand of the Year and Tim Walker, Pat McGrath and Terry Jones and nominated for the Fashion Creator Award.                                    

Red Carpet Designer of the Year Award is another huge award and has a number of successful designers as nominees, at the awards last year it was won by Marchesa, and this year nominees are Matthew Williamson, Giles Deacon and Stella McCartney. The Accessories Designer of the Year was won by Tomm Binns last year, accessories have been a huge part of fashion in 2008, where a trend was to wear plain clothing and then use big, bold and bright accessories to become the focus of the outfit – the nominees for this award are Rupert Sanderson, Jonathan Kelsey and Lara Bohinc.                                                                                                

The night has been promoted as a black tie event and it has promised to be a sparkling night in the fashion calendar, providing a great show of the fashion’s and trends in 2008 and what is to come for 2009 – which is apparently going to be influenced by street culture which will include rhythm, vibrancy and lots of colour, the clothes for 2009 will be packed with energy and graphics will be a strong image on the clothing, using logos and pictograms with strong typography for decoration, hopefully the Fashion Award’s will reveal some of these pieces and celebrities will be wearing them!

Katie Price has put the glitzy lifestyle behind her and is training hard to become an accomplished horse rider and possibly a future Olympian despite much criticism and many people doubting she has what it takes. When you think of Jordan, the first thing that comes into your mind is that she a an ex glamour model, a mother, a reality TV star, business women, writer and a singer but her recent new hobby has taken many by surprise as no-one would expect her to steer down the route of becoming a professional dressage horse rider, and she has just recently competed in the biggest horse show of the year within the UK, she is certainly multi-talented and full of many surprises!

The star was invited to ride a dressage display at The Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) in Birmingham and many people involved in the sport were surprised and due having competed all year to be able to take part in riding there were probably a little angry that Katie was invited due to her celebrity status and recent interest in the sport. Katie has been training very hard with the dressage rider Andrew Gould and her performance at the show made this very clear, she took up the challenge thrown at her as she does with everything else and clearly gave it her all, this is because she is passionate about horses and always has been, and was out to prove all he negative watchers wrong through her sheer determination, and she did this all whilst still composing herself in her glitzy style. Katie also wasn’t only there to perform a stunning display; she was also launching her new horse clothing range.
