The speculation about Dannii Minogue’s X Factor future appears to be over, as since the end of the last series it has been speculated that she may be getting kicked off the show, but fellow judge on the show Simon Cowell has said she will remain on the show and, in addition, her reported £500,000-a-series pay packet will be doubled. This will bring her wage in line with fellow judge Cheryl Cole’s seven-figure contract.

From the first time Girls Aloud star Cheryl Cole became a hit on the ITV show, rumours started circulating about a possible replacement for Kylie’s little sister. The likes of Robbie Williams, Gary Barlow, Posh Spice and Lily Allen were thrown into the mix.

However, The Mirror quotes Simon Cowell as saying: “As far as the judging panel is concerned, let’s just say that if I was a betting man my money would be on Dannii returning to the show. She was great last year and I am adamant she should be there for the next series. Despite all the fuss concerning Dannii and Cheryl, I think the four judges worked really well together and gelled. There was an excellent chemistry. There’s been a lot of rubbish written about just who will be on the show, with people like Victoria Beckham supposedly in the frame. That was absolute nonsense – I never approached her.”

So this is the final news confirmed and it is good news for Dannii who is said to be excited and eager to sign on the dotted line, lets just hope she has better relations with the panel in the forthcoming series, as last year she publicly fell out with fellow judge Louis Walsh, who famously made her cry live on air, and Sharon Osbourne spoke about Dannii in a recent television interview saying she was the reason she left X Factor and she couldn’t stand her: “She had no personality and acted like a silly innocent girl, it got on my nerves and i couldn’t see myself working with her for the next six months” were Sharon’s opinions on Dannii during the interview. 

Chris Brown reportedly called Rihanna to wish her a happy 21st birthday on the morning of her special day, but Rhianna wasn’t too happy to hear from him and said she had wanted to spend the day without speaking to or about him. 

Rihanna held a private party with friends on her birthday on Friday, but she did not invite Chris, 19, who she has not seen since he was arrested on February 8 for making criminal threats against an unnamed woman.

A source close to Rhianna said: “Chris called Rihanna to wish her a happy birthday. He’s absolutely trying to get back into her good graces. He knows he’s very much in the doghouse right now, and is doing everything he can to show her how sorry he is.”

Rhianna has received a string of birthday gifts from Chris as part of him trying to show her how sorry he is and how much he wants to make things up, these gifts include a diamond bracelet and necklace and an iPod Touch. Chris’ mother, Joyce – who is said to adore Rihanna – apparently sent over a bouquet of flowers to mark her birthday and was sorry that she didn’t get to share her special day with her. 

The insider revealed: “Rihanna so wanted Chris with her on her big day, but obviously realises why they can’t be together right now. But it’s becoming more and more clear that she can’t be without him.”

Rihanna held her casino theme birthday party in a rented house in the Hollywood Hills, with professional croupiers brought in to deal Blackjack 21, and all of her guests are said to of enjoyed gambling throughout the night and even though there was alcohol available Rhianna didn’t choose drinking to celebrate her birthday. She was in a great mood and was really celebrating not just her birthday, but life in general.

After the party Rihanna flew to her native Barbados, where she ended her birthday celebrations with her mother.

New found best pals Lilly Allen and Lindsay Lohan are reportedly planning to go on holiday together, Lilly and Lindsay have become good friends while Lily has been in Los Angeles promoting her new album and even had matching tattoos, that say “Shhh…” on their index fingers, done together last week.

The pair have been partying hard together and recovering in the day by having lunch and shopping trips together, its like they have been friends for year already!

They have been getting on really well and they’re planning a summer escape along with Lindsay’s girlfriend Samantha Ronson, they have already started to plan locations and are thinking of Bahamas and are also planning a trip to the Coachella Music Festival in April to see Amy Winehouse.

Lily, 23, and Lindsay 22, are apparently also thinking about collaborating on some music together, and have briefly discussed making a record together and looked into arranging a studio where this could take place, they plan to discuss this further and make firm plans while they’re away on holiday.

This collaboration would also include Lindsay’s girlfriend Samantha Ronson who has also said she would welcome the two coming together to make some music and she would be more than happy to help promote it in her DJ sets, Samantha’s profile as a DJ has taken a boost since she was first linked to Lindsay.

We are all more than aware now that Victoria Beckham and arch-enemy Katie Price came face to face at Sir Elton John’s post-Oscars party, it is well known within the celebrity circuit that the former Spice Girl and the glamour model have been engaged in a bitter feud for years, but according to sources at the party Katie tried to bury the hatchet and approached Posh to say hello – only for the wag to snub her and completely ignore he attempts to finally clear the air. 

Katie, 30, spoke about the situation saying: “I saw Victoria and tried to approach her to say ‘hello’. But she blatantly refused to make eye contact with me. It was so rude. Instead she muttered something under her breath. She was definitely slagging me off and couldn’t get away fast enough. I was pretty p***** off but now I couldn’t care less. I won’t look her way again.”

Victoria, 34, sat at the far end of the marquee in Los Angeles’ Pacific Design Centre with Sharon Stone, Eva Longoria, Gordon Ramsay, Kate Beckinsale, Seal and Heidi Klum, ignoring Katie.

But before the night came to an end the glamour model’s husband, Peter Andre, went to make peace, much to Katie’s horror, expecting Posh to ignore him too – which Katie wouldn’t be able to cope with and has said if this had happened she would of most probably ended up making a scene. 

Peter said: “I wrapped Victoria up in a big hug. She was absolutely fine, a total sweetheart. I think she’s great so I went to apologise, she accepted the apology and was lovely to me.”

O.C. actress Mischa Barton has told fans not to worry about her apparent weight loss, as the 23-year-old’s slender frame has been the focus of media comment in recent weeks, causing concern amongst her fan base that she is taking dieting too far and needs to slow down as it may be becoming obsessive to her. 

The English-born actress has spoken out about this and said there is nothing wrong and had a pop at the press for suggesting otherwise. In her official blog, Mischa said: “So lately there’s been a lot of crazy press about my weight and just so you guys know I’m happier than ever so there is no need to worry about me.”

Mischa Barton’s weight went up last year and she was photographed in Australia looking a little bit plumper than usual and with very dimpled thighs and backside.. but now her weight has dropped and it is continuing to go down. 

Apparently Mischa is upset by the bad press she has been receiving about her weight and addressed the ‘crazy press’ in her blog, where she spoke about the reaction to her weight loss saying: ”So lately there’s been a lot of crazy press about my weight and just so you guys know I’m happier and healthier than ever so there is no need to worry about me. Things are really well in Mischa world and I’ve just been watching what I eat.”

“I still love my pilates and yoga, and have cut back on fatty foods a bit.  My time in India and Paris really just helped me lose a little bit of weight but there’s nothing drastic going on!”

At the Oscar awards on Sunday night Miley Cyrus was one of the first big stars to arrive on the famous red carpet of the 81^st Academy Awards and looked adorable.

She told reporters that her bejeweled fish scale tiered princess gown – designed by Zuhair Murad – was inspired by “The Little Mermaid.”

When the dress is viewed from close up, the detail to the beading is unique and exquisite, the dress does truly give out a fairy princess look and Miley wore it perfectly – because it really did look like something out of the Disney Collection.

Miley accessorized with a clutch by Mary Norton, Neil Lane diamond earrings and BCBG shoes. She wore her hair in a low, loose chignon and kept her makeup subtle.

When Miley was interviews on the red carpet she was asked who she would be “celebrity stalking” tonight, she said Angelina Jolie saying that she wouldn’t mind being adopted by her.

She also said she was worried that her dress may be seen as ‘too old’ for her, even though it looks like something a fairy princess would wear to her birthday party… definitely not too old. 

Socialite Nicole Richie is pregnant with her second child, Nicole is best known for her appearance as a reality TV star on the show ‘The Simple Life’ and her boyfriend Joel Madden announced the couple are expecting a sibling for their 13-month-old daughter Harlow Winter.

Nicole who is also the daughter of singer Lionel Richie, is due to give birth in August. Joel wrote on his band Good Charlotte’s website saying: ‘What’s better than winning an Oscar? I am so happy to tell everyone that Harlow is going to be a big sister.’

‘God has truly blessed my family. Hope you’re all feeling as good as I am right now.’

Former Hollywood wildchild Nicole has credited motherhood with helping her to settle down, she had a well-publicised battle with drug addiction in her teens and going to rehab at 21, Nicole ended up serving 82 minutes in a Los Angeles jail in August 2007 after pleading guilty to driving under the influence of marijuana and Vicodin.

Nicole spoke about her relationship with Joel last year saying: ‘It’s weird – even though we had only been together a few months, we had lightly talked about having a family. I think we always knew. It’s almost like I don’t even remember what life was like before her. She gives life a whole new meaning and a whole new purpose.’

Joel, 29, and Nicole, 27, have been dating since November 2006, shortly after he ended his long-term relationship with singer/actress Hilary Duff.

Nicole gave birth to Harlow in January last year after her ’surprise’ pregnancy. Nicole and Joel introduced Paris Hilton who is Nicole’s best friend to Joel’s twin brother Benji and the pair had a short but sweet relationship last year which only lasted a couple of months.

After Katie Holmes failed to show at the Oscars on Sunday night, everyone was wondering what had kept her away from the Los Angeles event as a successful actress most expected her to attend.

It turns out the actress swopped post-Oscar parties for an early night thousands of miles away on the other side of America in preparation for filming her new movie, The Extra Man.

So Katie didn’t spend the evening dressed up in a glamorous outfit, just a dowdy ensemble to protect her from the New York cold as she quietly strolled around alone.

Katie looked gaunt and was also seen carrying a bag emblazoned with the slogan ‘I Love My Home… Planet Earth’ and a pair of ballet shoes, which she later changed into.

Katie was not the only star to shun last night’s Oscars at the Kodak Theatre, other celebrities which made the choice to stay away from the event was Katie’s husband Tom Cruise, Leonardo DiCaprio, George Clooney, Scarlett Johansson, Julia Roberts and Jennifer Lopez.

Katie Holmes has caused concern recently after losing weight on an extreme diet called Purification Rundown, which is another aspect of her husband Tom’s scientology belief’s, but the detox which she began after her filming on broadway has left the 30-year-old looking painfully thin and exhausted.

She reportedly also missed the recent Armani party in New York during Fashion Week because she was feeling so run down, which is adding to concerns arising about her health. 

Friends actress Jennifer Aniston finally came face to face with love rival Angelina Jolie at the oscar awards on Sunday night, and what a hard way to do it – in front of millions of viewers.

Jennifer most recent film is ‘Marley and Me’ which is based on the book about a family who buy a puppy Labrador.

The star presented the award for Best Animated Feature Film after pulling off a great double act with comic Jack Black watched by ex-husband Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, who were sat right on the front row literally a stone throw away from Jennifer.

And both Angelina and Brad smiled as the comic pair joked about Jack’s animation voiceovers, and Jen grumbled about her meagre paycheck for The Iron Giant.

Jack replied: “Each year I do a Dreamworks movie then I take all the money to the Oscars and bet it on Pixar.”

Addressing the Dreamworks head co-host Jen added: “I’m sorry Mr Katzenberg, I don’t know why we let him out.”

The comic double made a great pair and had the audience laughing before the award was presented, I bet poor Jennifer let out a huge sigh of relief when it was over!

Brad and Jennifer split in 2005 after he met Angelina on the set of Mr and Mrs Smith, and there has been speculation since that Brad actually cheated on Jennifer with Angelina whilst they were still married, but this has never been confirmed. 

Fashion fanatic Victoria Beckham and her old rival ‘Jordan’ Katie Price, kept an icy distance away from each other at Sir Elton John’s Oscar bash as their decade-long feud refused to thaw regardless of the time that has past between their first frosty meet.

Posh Spice, 34, and Jordan, 30, were both invited to Sir Elton’s charity dinner and rumours were circling in Los Angeles before Sunday’s event that Victoria may not attend to avoid an embarrassing confrontation with her old enemy, as Katie is known to not hold back on her opinions!

But both Brit stars turned up for dinner after organizers were handed strict instructions to keep them apart throughout the evening,

Jordan was sat with X Factor judge Simon Cowell and his ex girlfriend Terri Seymour – who are both still good friends even after their split last year. Meanwhile Posh sat with her Hollywood pals Kate Beckinsale and Eva Longoria on the opposite side of the Pacific Design Centre venue.

The feisty pair first exchanged insults in 2000 after meeting through Jordan’s ex, former pop star Dane Bowers when Victoria recorded a song with him.

And a source has revealed: “Victoria didn’t want to give Katie the satisfaction of a face-to-face meeting and the opportunity to make a scene. She made sure she was sat as far away as possible and only left her table surrounded by her A-list pals once throughout the evening”

“She then left pretty soon after the ceremony. She thinks the whole thing is pretty pathetic and didn’t want it becoming the focus of the night.”
