Splashed across our tabloids and gossip mags on a weekly basis, lies the latest celebrities selling their wedding photos claiming they have found ‘the one’ and that they are madly in love.

A year later, the ‘loved-up’ couple sells their story claiming they hate each others guts, calling each other every name under the sun and demanding £50,000,000, five houses, two cars and the cat through a costly divorce settlement.

Here are our top five most expensive celebrity divorce settlements. How cheerful!

Kevin Costner and Cindy Silva

The celebrity couple were married for 16 years, between 1978 and 1994, and had three children together; but their split was anything but sweet for the actor. Silva left the marriage with $80 million as she was married to the actor during the peak of his career, with the star earning $50 million in 1991 alone.

Harrison Ford and Melissa Mathison

After twenty-one years together, Ford and Mathison called it a day in 2004. Mathison walked away with $85million and apparently a cut of Harrison’s future earnings for the movies he made while they were still married. These movies included two Star Wars films and three Indiana Jones films, plus many more.

Steven Spielberg and Amy Irving

Famous filmmaker Spielberg split with wife of just four years, in 1989. The divorce proved rather costly for the director even though the couple had set up a pre-nup agreement protecting his wealth. According to USA Today, Irving was able to challenge the pre-nup and paid out $100 million, their split the third biggest pay out in celebrity history.

Neil Diamond and Marcia Murphy

The two wed in 1969 and spent a ‘blissful’ 27 years together, but by the end the couple decided to call it a day and Diamond paid out $150 million or roughly, $5.5 million for each year they were together.

Michael Jordan and Juanita

Both USA and Forbes reported that the basketball star Jordan made the largest payout in any celebrity divorce in history.

It was reported that the former Chicago Bulls star was forced to pay his ex wife, Juanita, $168 million, for their 18-year marriage, when the split was finalised in 2007.

PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, have announced the biggest celebrity fur offenders of the year, with Madonna hitting top spot.

Following in suit to the ‘Material Girl’ star lies a group of cold-hearted celebrities who have no shame in flashing the hideous furs.

And from the top, the losers are…

MADONNA

Known for her fear of growing old, the singer loves to show the world just how ‘young and hip’ she is with her muscular figure, raunchy dance moves and dress sense.

However, when Madonna flaunts herself in fur, you can see why no one has copied her style since 1984 and that wearing fur does not make her look any younger, hip our trendy, just old, selfish and ignorant.

MARY KATE AND ASHLEY OLSEN

The pint sized twins are continual offenders of wearing fur products, showing no remorse or respect for organisations who continually fight for the ban on fur products around the world.

Since fur piles on the pounds and adds on the years, the twins must be using it as a cover up to keep the media away from the battling problems with bulimia.  I don’t think the trick is working ladies,  just go and eat a burger instead.

MAGGIE GYLLENHAAL

The Batman actress seems to have buried herself into some rather ugly fur coats, showing no fashion sense, grace or style.

However, her style on herself contradicts her recent ‘charity work’ with Fisher Price, which sees the star helping to promote the $250,000 donation given to Wildlife Conservation Society, (WCS) an organisation that saves wildlife and wild places.

Something tells me Mags has been on the phone to her PR Company to get her out of this furry mess!  

KANYE WEST

Celebrity diva, Kanye West, ranted and raved about his failure in not winning the Album of the Year and the Grammy Awards.

Really, Kanye West should be up for a “lifetime bereavement award” for all the dead animals in his wardrobe.

The US star claims he is the voice of this generation, yet fails to realise the new generation thinks fur is ugly, and that people who wear it are cruel and old school.

ELIZABETH HURLEY

Elizabeth Holy  she is not. The UK actress should be concentrating on her failing career rather than flaunting the remains of animals on her back.

It makes you want to hurl-ley when you seen the star parading round in fur in a plea to be back in the public eye. Shame!

The worst dressed awards will hopefully make these cold hearted celebrities face up to the truth about fur. Animals on fur farms are kept in the most appalling conditions, spending their lives trapped in tiny wired cages. Cheapest and crude methods are used by fur farmers when slaughtering the animals, such as breaking their necks while they are fully conscious or using anal or genital electrocution. 

US actress, Jennifer Aniston, 40, has dumped musician boyfriend John Mayer because he wasn’t ready to have a child with her. The ‘Friends’ actress has been dating Mayer, 31, on and off for about a year, ended the relationship last week, as Jennifer is desperate to start a family.

A source told America’s OK! Magazine, “She was truly ready to move on. John wasn’t ready to father her child so she ended it.” It has been reported that the pair split on good terms and have not ruled out rekindling their romance in the near future. 

“They left the door open to give it another go. John’s number one priority at the moment is his music, it’s all-consuming for him,” said another source.

Reports suggested the Mayer ended the relationship with Aniston after her return from her European tour promoting her latest film, Marley and Me.

However, POPEATER, squashed these reports stating, “Jennifer Aniston is saying it’s actually the other way around. Aniston reportedly told her friends it was her decision to end their relationship after Mayer became distant following their appearance at the Oscars, WENN reports.”

Previous reports suggested that Aniston was keen for John to commit to their future, after he promised to change his partying lifestyle if they were to start a family. Actress, Drew Barrymore, a close friend of Aniston, was reported to have disliked Mayer, and was keen for the ‘Friends’ star to get rid of him.

It was reported that Drew believed Mayor was using Aniston to raise his celebrity profile and never really wanted kids with her at all.

Speaking about her desire for a family Jennifer said, “I feel it’s in my future and I’m on the verge of it in some way. I want to have children. That’s my plan. Of course I’d like to be a mother some day, and I love children.”

While most of us worry about the credit crunch and panic about where our next meal is coming from, many hip-hop stars are not feeling the bite on their bling. With many now owning their own record labels, luxury houses and apartments, night clubs, and some rather expensive jewelry, the multimillion dollar stars are set through this groveling recession.

50 cent is known as the priciest rapper on the planet and worth over £60 million.

At his 48,000-square-foot mansion, the star has his own lake, waterfall and in-house club, complete with 52-rooms, servants’ quarters and a boat house, all costing a staggering £2.5million.

Multimillion dollar rapper, Jay Z, proves his babe Beyonce is more than enough by splashing most of his cash on the R&B star.

Beyonce’s engagement ring cost a whopping £3.5million, which she believes is too expensive to wear out so she had a cheaper version made to wear instead.

A shoe fetish is generally deemed as a female trait, but rapper Kanye boasts a collection of 450 pairs of designer shoes, with a resident ‘shoe keeper’ to specifically look after his shoes.

With a keen appetite for UK takeaways, the ‘Golddigger’ star ordered an Indian takeaway from a restaurant in Wales, to be delivered to his pad in New York, costing a mega £2,775.

P DIDDY

Sean Combs, as his real name goes, is worth a mega £25 million and owns two luxury homes costing a combined £22 million.

Pretty reasonable for a hip hop star, but his demands on tour is what gives him the diva bling factor. Travelling with a personal entourage of 30, P Diddy takes his own barber, the only man allowed to touch his hair, alongside a team to lay out all of his 80 black and white suits for him to choose every morning. On standby is a barman to mix his favourite cocktail and a guy to carry his gem encrusted iPod. Nice!

Akon

Akon doesn’t waste any time on measly one off diamonds, instead he just buys a whole mine instead. 

The ‘Right Now’ star bought a whole South African diamond mine all for himself in 2007.

US pop singer, Britney Spears, plans to visit sick children in hospital when her tour comes to London in June this year.

The mum of two was so touched when visiting Miami Children’s Hospital earlier this month, she has decided to visit children at Britain’s Great Ormond Street hospital.

A source said, “She would really like to do this. In Miami she met up with 40 kids and posed for pictures with them.

“She found it really moving that just a couple of minutes with the children could mean so much to them.”

Her ‘Circus’ tour, which kicked off in New Orleans two weeks ago, will visit London’s 02 arena in just two months time. However, the 27-year-old star is already threatening to cancel her remaining shows after receiving death threats.

The ‘Womanizer’ star is said to be worried about the lives of her sons Sean Preston, three, and Jayden James, aged two, who could be in danger following the menacing messages.

A source said, “Britney received some anonymous death threats over the phone and in the mail, and her worst fear is a kidnap plot against Sean or Jayden. She’s been having terrible nightmares ever since then and she wakes up in the middle of the night crying out for her boys.

“She told her head of security and he thinks it’s a lone stalker. Her paranoia has reached fever pitch and she’s wracked with fear.”

Lohan has refused to appear in court to respond to a warrant for her arrest, and has sent her lawyer to represent her instead.

Attorney Shawn Chapman Holley, confirmed to The Associated Press that she will appear in court on behalf of the 22-year-old actress.

The warrant was issued by a Beverly Hills judge on Friday, and carries a $50,000 bail.

Lohan’s lawyer believes the warrant was issued as the result of a misunderstanding and that it should be settled in court.

 It has been confirmed by a spokeswoman for the distric attorney’s office, that the warrant has something to do with the actress’s probation.

Lohan was sentenced to three years probation following a pair of driving under the influence arrests in 2007. Ms Holley has confirmed that so far Lohan has complied with all court orders.

Lohan is bound by law to complete regular drugs tests and report to her probation officer. Failure to act upon this is a violation to her sentence.

The “Mean Girls” actress was arrested in 2007 when her Mercedes-Benz hit a tree in Beverly Hills.

A few weeks later, the star was arrested in Santa Monica after the mother of her former personal assistant called 911 to report that her car was being chased by SUV driven by Lohan.

Lohan pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor counts of being under the influence of cocaine, no contest to two counts of driving with a blood-alcohol level above .08 percent and one count of reckless driving.

The actress spent just 84 minutes in jail and was ordered undergo drug-rehabilitation treatment and to perform community service.

Lohan has been warned if she fails to comply with her probation she could face up to a year in jail on each of the drunk-driving and cocaine charges and 90 days on the reckless-driving charge. 

Top Five worst celebrity barnets

Celebrities are renowned for their hair styles and generally us celebrity wannabes try to copy their lovely, luscious locks…well we used to anyway.

Celebrity hair dos have just gone mental! Sleek, sexy hair has become a thing of the past, as celebrities try to be more daring and adventurous with their hair styles, outdoing each other on every occasion.

Gone are the days when we would walk into the hairdressers and simply ask for ‘The Rachel’ the effortlessly sleek style modelled by Jennifer Aniston during her reign in TV hit series, Friends.

Now, if we asked for ‘The Britney’ our stylists would think we had gone mental and ask us to leave the salon and take a trip to a councillor instead.

We all know that the Back to Black singer is famous for her beehive hairdo, but this is just taking it a step too far!

The singer has had an album of hair dos since shaving it all off last year. The US singer has had the dodgiest of extensions and wigs, from blonde tacky strands, to dull and lifeless brunette hair. Although the star is getting back on track and realising a good barnet is actually pretty useful, it’s ever so easy to remember that fateful night she thought the middle-aged balding man look was pretty sexy!

3.     Sarah Harding

Now I think Sarah may have got slightly confused when her band members asked whether she was to do a star trek to Kilimanjaro for Comic Relief. Instead, the Girls Aloud singer decided to go for the Mr Spock look, hoping to steal the lime light from the other band members. Don’t worry Sarah, you’ve certainly done that!

4.     Edith Bowman

Scary! Why Edith decided to go for the Camilla Parker Bowles look is beyond understanding. The rock chick Radio One presenter’s granny look doesn’t do her many favours and most likely sent her singer boyfriend, from The Editors running for the hills. Go and do some knitting Edith!

5.     Lilly Allen

The lovable Lilly Allen became not so lovable when she died her hair pink. What was she thinking? Not only did it wash her out, it looks plastic, flat and did not make her look like a rock star. Stick to brunette Lilly, it’s just safer!

Opening a tabloid newspaper or gossip magazine and no doubt there will be a story splashed on the cover about a celebrity showing her diva habits.

The tabloids love it and the celebrities hate it as their credibility falls down the pipeline when the public discovers they aren’t the sweet girls they make out to be.

Over the years we have heard rumours of many celebs demanding food to be sent up to their hotel room at 5am and throwing a tantrum if their sheets aren’t made of Egyptian silk cotton.

 1 Mariah Carey

 Mariah’s appearance on last years X Factor saw the US singer bring a few diva antics to the UK.

Arriving with 27 bags in tow, Mariah and her entourage all flew first-class and stayed at the lush Dorchester, where a suite costs just £2,000 a night.

The singer also insisted that the entire floor of the X Factor studios was for use only.

Her assistant demanded that a corridor was to be built from her mobile home to the door into the studio so that she could prepare for the concert.

After the show, Mariah flew to Monaco on a private jet, which cost the World Music Awards £10,000.

On arrival she asked for renowned Michelin-starred chef Alain Ducasse to be brought to her hotel to cook her private dinner before asking him to stay to teach her how to cook the clam linguine for her new husband Nick Cannon. How thoughtful!

2. Sharon Stone

Sharon Stone has let the fame go to her head since producers asked her to star in the Basic Instinct sequel.

Shazza’s requests took up five pages and included three nannies, two assistants, first class travel (if a private jet was unavailable), presidential suite, chef, and deluxe motor home with all amenities including VCR and cellular fax machine.

The star demanded she be equipped with Pilates equipment, a chauffeured car plus a convertible sedan for herself.

Any wardrobe and jewelry worn in the picture that wasn’t rented she would also keep. Plus her bodyguards would receive $3,500 per week. 

3. Jennifer Lopez

Arriving at the five-star hotel London hotel, The Dorchester, the Latina star proved just how high maintenance she was.

The pop princess requested no less than three types of Coke (diet, regular and caffeine-free regular), two humidifiers, a preference for white or red roses or white lilies, two humidifiers and two oscillating fans with the preferred room temperature at 26°C.

The diva further went on to provide a similar request list ahead of the video shoot for the 9/11 tribute song, “What’s Going On” despite all profits going to charity.

4. Aretha Franklin?

The ‘Respect’ diva demanded $25,000 up front in cash upon arrival at the venue of a show.

Aretha also insisted that when staying in a hotel room, she must never be placed above the 5^th floor.

5. Cher

Sixties survivor, Cher insists she has an additional area for preparation before a show. Not satisfied, like most bands to share a single dressing room, the diva requires a ‘Wig Room, special tissues, black Solo cups and lilies.

The diva thinks she is so big; she shouldn’t have to wear one of those laminated tour passes backstage. Touchy!

Rihanna will testify against Chris Brown

Rihanna’s lawyer has confirmed she will testify against her boyfriend, singer Chris Brown, if she is subpoenaed to appear in court.

The R&B singer, who is currently fighting two felony charges of assaulting the pop princess, is currently free on $50,000 (£35,700) bail after he was granted a continuance at his arraignment hearing on 5^th March 2009.

Brown is due back in court on April 6^th 2009 where his girlfriend may be called to testify against him by prosecutors, adamant to put the famous singer up to the full extent of the law.

Brown allegedly beat up Rihanna in a late-night row on the 8^th February 2009 which left her face battered and bruised.

The attack allegedly occurred after the 21-year-old singer discovered a three-page text message from his former lover on his mobile phone.

Brown tried to push Rihanna out of the car but failed to do so as she was wearing a seatbelt. He then allegedly punched her and threatened, “I’m going to beat the s*** out of you when we get home. You wait and see!’

It was reported that Rihanna attempted to call her assistant but received her answerphone, were she pretended to tell her to call the police.

The testimony of Detective De Shon Andrews, from Los Angeles Police Department, detail that Brown threw a ‘barrage of punches’ at Rihanna’s face, bit her ear and pressed her neck until she almost passed out.

The attack was reported to have caused Rihanna’s mouth to fill with blood, which splattered all over her clothing. The papers suggest that injured Rihanna managed to free herself by kicking Brown away and gouging his eyes. A passerby called the police after they heard Rihanna’s screams and cries for help.

Recent reports have suggested Rihanna has reconciled with the singer and was in Los Angeles with him. Her lawyer Donald Etra told MTV news, “”She is planning to do everything that the law requires her to do. If she is required to testify, she will do so.” Etra was overheard telling Brown in court on Thursday 5th March that Rihanna ‘would like this to be over as quickly as possible.’

He further went on to tell Us Weekly magazine, “Rhianna desires that it (the case) be quick and expeditious. She wants to get back to her life and her career.”
Brown could face up to four years and eight months in jail if convicted.

Hospital bound Jade Goody confronted by a woman with hammer

Terminally ill Jade Goody was confronted by a woman armed with a hammer leaning over her hospital bed.

The intruder entered the room with a hammer, at the Royal Marsden hospital in west London soon after her husband Jack Tweed had left her side. Max Clifford, Jade’s publicist, told Radio 1 that Tweed had left for just a few minutes to visit the hospital canteen at around 3pm on Sunday afternoon.  Jade, 27, awoke to find the woman holding a hammer leaning over her bed while muttering prayers. Hospital medics rushed to Goody’s aid to get the woman away.  

Clifford confirmed that Goody had not been injured during the incident but was left “very shaken up.

“It’s very distressing, particularly when you are so weak and vulnerable,” Clifford said.

“It has made her even keener to try and get home as soon as possible.”

It has been confirmed by the Metropolitan Police that a 41-year-old woman has been arrested following the incident.

A statement by the police said, “We can confirm that police were called to the Royal Marsden hospital Sunday afternoon by security to reports of an unknown woman being in a patient’s room.

“Officers attended and a 41-year-old woman was searched and found in possession of a hammer and was arrested for possession of an offensive weapon and taken into custody at a west London police station.”

It has been confirmed in a further statement that the 41-year-old woman has been released.

Goody, famous for starring on the Channel 4 reality TV show, has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and has been told she has just a matter of weeks to live.

Earlier this weekend, Jade was christened alongside her two sons Bobby, five and Freddy, four, described by Clifford as a, “very short and emotional service.”
