Entertainment news shows saw a spike in ratings last week thanks to their coverage of the Arnold Schwarzenegger scandal.
The news that the former California governor had fathered a child while married to Maria Shriver gave the some of the syndicated programs a lift, according to Nielsen ratings released Tuesday.

Top-rated Entertainment Tonight averaged 5.6 million total viewers and a 3.9 household rating, up 5% from the previous week.
Inside Edition pulled in 4.3 million viewers and a 3.0, up 7%, while Extra averaged 2.2 million and a 1.6, up 7%.
Also seeing a bump was Insider Weekend (2.1 million and 1.4, up 17%).

Elsewhere, the not yet nationally rated Access Hollywood Live (0.9 rating/3 share, up 13% from its year-ago time periods) jumped 100% among women 18-49 and 75% among women 25-54 in its 14 metered markets.
TMZ (3 million, 2.1), Access Hollywood (2.8 million, 2.0) and The Insider (2.5 million, 1.7) all held steady from the previous week.
