Russell Brand calls Obama to talk about football

noel-gallagher-and-russell-brandRussell Brand and Noel Gallagher phoned the US president Barack Obama to discuss football and test his knowledge.

The pair made the call during the radio show, talkSPORT on the 19 April to see whether rumours that Obama was a West Ham United fan were true.

Russell, who is a dedicated supporter of the East London club, didn’t manage to get through to the president, but left a voicemail at the White House.

The controversial star, said, ”Dear Barack Obama, we are calling you to find out if you are in fact the world’s most famous West Ham supporter as it is claimed. I haven’t seen you at Upton Park, and what formation do you suggest Gianfranco Zolo plays?”

A nervous Noel Man City supporter who often makes regular appearances on the talkSPORT show, said, “This answer phone message better not jeopardise my American visa situation.”

The evening show was Russell’s first radio appearance since he resigned from his BBC Radio 2 slot, following a row over the telephone calls made to 79-year-old actor Andrew Sachs about his granddaughter last October. Both Jonathan Ross and Russell left voicemail messages revealing Russell had bedded his granddaughter, Georgina Baillie.

Brand discussed the sensitive subject on the show and thanked Noel and his listeners for tuning in to listen.

He said, “I scarred not only myself but radio as a concept.”

Noel replied, ““Was it as unfunny as it seemed?”

Russell answered, ““It was an event Noel. Remember those? You used to create them in the 90s.”

During the show, Russell phoned his friend Jonathan, who was suspended from the BBC after the incident for three months, and asked him whether he wanted to be interviewed on air.

Noel, who was highly, amused by the pair, said, “This is two people who haven’t learnt their lesson.”

Michelle Obama Is Keeping Her Girls Grounded

Self-styled new first lady of fashion Michelle Obama wants her girls – Malia, 10, and Sasha, 7 – to stay grounded and not receive any sort of special treatment as they start their new lives in Washington. The girls were thrilled with a surprise visit from The Jonas Brothers boys, and met Beyonce during the campaign, there will be no more socializing with celebrities.

Mrs. Obama is trying to keep them grounded and wants the girls to settle into their new school – Sidwell Friends School – and have as normal as a life as possible. She is spending a lot of time talking to the girls about the new school and she’s reached out to fellow parents at Sidwell,” added the source.

The Obamas, as well, will not be hiring a nanny to care for the girls, but instead have grandma – Marian Robinson, Michelle’s mum – to look after the girls, whom she adores and dotes on.

And the family’s biggest plus – having dad Barack at home for breakfast and dinner, which was something that usually didn’t happen while he was on the campaign trail. There is no doubt the Obama’s will do a very good job of keeping there children grounded and focused on also being successful in whatever route they may take.

President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama

President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama took center stage as they danced at the Inaugural Ball.  Michelle wore an-off-the-shoulder white Jason Wu gown. Beyonce serenaded the crowd with a beautiful rendition of Etta James’ At Last.

President Obama was dressed in a black tuxedo with a white bow tie, and the First Lady was beautiful in her Jason Wu full-length white gown. Historian Carl Sferrazza Anthony, who’s written about first ladies said of Michelle’s dress choice:  It’s “a balancing act between a queen and a commoner.  The inaugural gown is a metaphor for the first lady role. They reflect around the world an image of our country.”

Malia and Sasha the daughters of Barack and Michelle must be very proud of their parents – they’re classy yet down-to-earth and make a wonderful First couple, and after seeing the crowds that gathered yesterday i think there is no dispute that The United States of America agree with this statement too – America has finally become united.
