Medical professionals in Majorca will examine the late Boyzone’s singer’s body tomorrow, three days after he died suddenly at the holiday home he shared with his partner Andy Cowles in Port d’Andratx.

The examination was delayed for 24 hours due to a public holiday in Spain today.

The 33-year-old singer’s body-which is being kepy at the Hospital Anatomico Forense de Palma-was discovered in a crouched ‘praying’ position by Andy on Saturday lunch time (10.10.09), after the pair had enjoyed a night out at a local gay club.

The family has been told the most likely scenario is Stephen had a bit too much to drink, vomited in his sleep and choked. It was a terrible accident. Another source added,

A family friend said, “The family has been told the most likely scenario is Stephen had a bit too much to drink, vomited in his sleep and choked. It was a terrible accident.”

Another sourced added, “Andy said he screamed, ‘Wake up! Wake up!’ at him. He also tried mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.

“But doctors later confirmed Stephen’s lungs had filled with fluid. There was nothing Andy could have done. He had drowned and asphyxiated.”

Spanish police are not treating the former Boyzone stars death as suspicious and Stephen’s family lawyer Gerald Keane has called his death a tragic accident.

Gately’s partner, Andy Cowles is said to be devastated by his death and completely blames himself for the tragic accient. “I will never forgive myself for this. He died and I couldn’t help him. I feel like my life is over,” he is said to have told the fellow Boyzone band members, according to the Daily Mirror.

A close friend also told the newspaper, “They kept telling Andy that he shouldn’t blame himself-but he just kept crying his eyes out.

“The guy is in a deep state of shock and he hasn’t slept for a minute since this tragedy unfolded. He is a total mess and everyone is worried about him.”

The friend added, “The told him that there is nothing he could have done at that he has to stop blaming himself.”

Dirty Dancing Star loses battle with cancer

Patrick Swayze

Patrick Swayze

Patrick Swayze has died of pancreatic cancer aged 57.

The star lost his battle with pancreatic cancer after two years of contracting the disease. He died on Monday with his family by his side.

The news was released by Swayze’s publicist, Annett Wolf who said that he had been diagnosed with advanced stage four pancreatic cancer in January last year.

Despite his illness the Dirty Dancing star starred in the US TV show The Beast. He also planned to write a memoir with his wife.

Annett said, “Patrick Swayze passed away peacefully today with his family at his side after facing  the challenges of his illness for the past 20 months.”

No other information was given.

Jennifer Gray, who co-starred with Swayze in Dirty Dancing, said, “Patrick was a rare and beautiful combination of raw masculinity and amazing grace. Gorgeous and strong, he was a real cowboy with a tender heart.

“He was fearless and insisted on always doing his own stunts, so it was not surprising to me that the war he waged on his cancer was so courageous and dignified.”

Patrick Swayze speaking in 2006, “I am torn between guy movies and heart movies.”

Rob Lowe, who acted in a number of films alongside Swayze, said, “Patrick lived a thousand lifetimes in one lifetime. He was an expert dancer, he wrote hit songs, he starred in hit movies, he was an amazing horseman.

“But the thing I will remember him most for was his amazing love affair with his wife Lisa.”

Demi Moore, who co-starred next to him in the hit film Ghost, said, “Patrick you are loved by so many and your light will forever shine in all of our lives.

“I love and will miss you Patrick.”

Greg Kilday, the film editor for Hollywood Reporter, said, Swayze was “in the tradition of a performer like Gene Kelly, who invested dance and romance with a real masculine athletic appeal.”

In January, Swayze admitted he may only have two years to live, but denied that he was near death.

In a US TV interview he said he was “scared” and “going through hell.”

“Am I dying? Am I giving up? Am I on my death bed? Am I saying goodbye to people? No way,” he told TV interviewer Barbara Walters.

“I keep dreaming of a future, a future with a long and healthy life, not lived in the shadow of cancer but in the light,” he said.

The film star’s biographer, Wendy Leigh, who wrote the book Patrick Swayze One Last Dance, said he had endured physical pain throughout his life.

“As a high school athlete he injured his knee tremendously badly, yet he still carried on playing football,” she said.

Sharon Osbourne, Nick Cannon and David Hasselhoff paid tribute to the star.

“As a dancer he had all sorts of injuries and Patrick learnt to live with pain, to fight pain.

“When he got diagnosed with this awful, awful disease he was determined to fight it and actually he lived far longer than most people who are diagnosed with this stage four pancreatic cancer, which was what Patrick had.”

Pancreatic cancer is one of the most virulent forms of cancer which medical experts say has a 5 per cent five-year survival rate.

Concert Promoter wants answers from Jackson’s Doctors

michael-jackson1The concert promoter for Michael Jackson’s concerts has demanded answers from the late star’s doctors.

Randy Phillips, CEO of AEG Live, who were staging his ‘This Is It’ 50-date London residency want to check over the results of the medical checks taken by the ‘Thriller’ star-who died of a suspected cardiac arrest last Thursday (25.06.09)

Michael was passed by medical experts as fit to perform and then died suddenly, amid rumours of a painkiller addiction.

Randy said, ”Maybe they didn’t do a good enough job. We want answers. We have poured millions of cash into Michael’s comeback.

“All the tests pointed to him being in fine physical shape. It is a complete mystery. The insurance company had an independent physician fly out from New York and give him a five-hour exam.

“We were told he passed with flying colours. Now I would like to see the results. If he was taking that amount of prescription drugs, wouldn’t that have been picked up in a blood test?

“We must know the results. I don’t know what our legal rights are.”

The medical test was reported to have included over 50 different checks and tests. With the results stating Michael was fit enough to perform, AEG Live secured insurance cover for the first 22 concerts but were unable to convince insurers to cover the full 50 shows at a cost of £300 million.

The promoters now face multi-million pound payouts to every ticket-holder.

Randy also told of his last conversation with Jackson during rehearsals the night before he died.

He told Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper, “He did a three-hour rehearsal and we all finished up at 12.30am on Thursday morning. He was really excited.

“He was super-charged and did a group hug with the director Kenny Ortega and his manager. He was like a kid in the candy store-he was so up for it.

“I walked him out to the car and he put his arm around me and, speaking softly like always does, he said to me, ‘Do you know what-we are here, we are going to make it. I love you for doing this and now I know I can do it.”

There have been claims over the past few days that ABBA will perform some of Michael’s O2 arena concert dates.

The quartet have so far resisted offers to reform following their split in 1983 but AEG Live are hoping to get them to sign up to take on several of the vacant dates.

David Campbell, chief executive of AEG Europe, said, “There’s a little foursome out in Sweden we keep talking to.”

A source close to the ‘Super Trooper’ hitmakers warned a comeback would be tricky.

The insider said, “There are millions on the table. But there are many hurdles to overcome.”

“David Carradine was murdered” claims agent

david_carradine_polanski_unauthorizedDavid Carradine’s family have asked the FBI to investigate his death amid speculation that the 72-year-old Kung Fu actor was murdered.

The actor was found dead in a hotel room in Bangkok, Thailand on Thursday, with reports suggesting he had died from accidental suffocation as part of a sex game gone wrong.

But last night, Carradine’s agent Chuck Binder-who described the death as “shocking and sad”-believes the actor was murdered.

Reports have suggested that Carradine was found with his hands tied behind his back and a footprint found on the bed which did not match his shoes.

Chuck Binder told CNN’s Larry King, “I don’t know if you want to call it accidental.

“I got some some calls from Thailand today from a producer that worked with him. I don’t want to get into the middle of this whole investigation, but this guy said to me for sure there was foul play.”

And the actor’s lawyer Vicki Roberts said,  “I believe there there may have been foul play.”

However, Thai police have insisted that no one else was involved.

Thai police chief Worapong Chewprecha said that Carradine was found with a rope tied around his genitals and another rope around his neck.

“The two ropes were tied together,”he said. “It is unclear whether he committed suicide or not, or if he died of suffocation or heart failure.”

This news led to speculation that Carradine may have died from auto-erotic asphyxiation.

US Embassy spokesperson, Michael Turner confirmed the death of the 72-year-old actor, saying he died either on Wednesday evening (03.06.09) or Thursday morning. (04.06.09).

Actor Michael Madsen-who hosted Carradine’s wedding to Annie Bierman in 2004- said his widow was very shocked and confused by the death of her husband.

“I  talked to Annie about that and she said the most important thing she wanted people to know was that David was not suicidal and he was not depressed.

“He was not about to do something like that, he had a job and he was working”

Carradine-who played Kwai Chang Caine in popular 70s series Kung Fu-is survived by his fifth wife, Annie Bierman.

He was nominated as the Best Actor for his role in Woody Guthrie in the 1976 movie ‘Bound For Glory’.

Speaking of his role in ‘Kung Fu’ Carradine said, “I don’t need to convince anybody that I know kung fu, but maybe somebody needs to know that I really can act without doing a Chinese accent or a funny walk.”
