Lucy Pinder became the first celebrity to be evicted from the 2009 Big Brother house on Friday night, the glamour model was up against former weathergirl Ulrika Jonsson who shored up her place in the house when her duet with actor Verne Troyer proved a surprise hit on the show’s website.
Bookmakers had the odds for Lucy being voted out of the house when she failed her part of the shopping task to provide the house with the weeks food.
Part of this task was to set Ulrika and Verne a challenge of performing Diana Ross and Lionel Ritchie’s classic love song ‘endless love’ to all their fellow housemates, and this performance received 10,000 web hits for the video.
Surprisingly, the views of the video continued to rise, with 81,483 views by the end of the challenge at 11pm and more than 100,000 by the next afternoon.
Lucy declared her wish to leave the Big Brother house after being driven to distraction by Coolio’s incessant rapping. Ulrika found her sobbing in the toilet having left the press pen in tears. Lucy told her: “I’m just really tired. I really want to go home tomorrow.”
After it was announced that Lucy was to leave the house, the nominated pair embraced and Ulrika burst into tears.
Lucy said to her housemates: “I’ll see you all again, I’m so glad I’m going home.”
Lucy was evicted by far the highest number of votes, as she received 57 per cent of the total votes cast by the public for her to leave the Big Brother House.
