Robbie Williams is said to be making a £10m come back tour.
The ‘Rock DJ’ singer has decided against reforming with his old band Take That, so he can play a series of solo dates at London’s O2 arena next year.
A source told Britain’s News of the World newspaper, “He wants to blow Michael Jackson and Take That out of the water with his comeback tour. It is going to be huge. He wants these shows to help re-establish him as the King of Pop.
“Robbie has been itching to get back in front of a live audience since he started writing his new album two years ago. He is planning to put on a super show to win back all the fans he has lost.”
In 2006, Robbie released album ‘Rudebox’ which received a poor reception from critics and fans alike.
Since then, Robbie has been hard at work writing new material, hoping his hard work will have paid off and his fans will like it.
Robbie is excited by the new album saying, “It sounds big. I’m buzzing.”
The new album will be released before Robbie’s tour starts, in a bid to win new fans to buy tickets for his shows.
Reports earlier this year suggested that Robbie was to reunite with former band mates, Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, Jason Orange, Howard Donald, after the huge success of Take That earlier this year.
However lead singer Gary, whose rows with Robbie were the main reason he left the band in 1995, has since denied a reunion is imminent.
He said, “We would all love to do something. It will happen, I just don’t know when.”
